I have a ten gallon tank that i won't be useing for a while because my cichlids will be moved out, but i may need it as a breeding tank if they start to breed, my brother has a ten gallon firebellie newt(chinese i think) two of them with two african dwarf frogs and four white cloud minnows, so i thought i would move my newt there if I need the tank for cichlid fry

So would one more newt fit in his tank?
And do newts live fine by themselves?(i know some fish will become unhealthy if not in groups or pairs)

Thanks to anyone who helps

Your brother should NOT be keeping newts with dwarf frogs. There is a large chance of attempted eating of one species by another, disease, and the temperatures required by each species are different. You should setup the newts in the empty tank. All the information you need can be found on the Caudata Culture site (link at the top of the main forum page) in the species section, family Salamandridae, genus Cynops, species orientalis.
Good luck with them!
Chris
