I think there is something wrong with my salamander

my salamanders skin looks weird as if he is drying up i have a running water sorce but it doesnt seem to help he is real sluggish now and little bugs that are kind of a purpleish grey or white are always appering in the tank and they are crawling on him.. no matter how much i clean the tank they keep comming back. so my question is is there something wrong with my salamander and how do i get rid of the bugs........please help

put him in a clean tank, just a large bowl or container or something with just spring water. feed in a separate tank.

what kind of salamander do you have?? is it in an aquatic or terrestrial setup? what do the bugs look like
