Hey,

Does anyone know where you can get Ice Probes in the UK? (think they are manufactured by a company called coolworks).
Or can anyone recommend any cheap but small and efficient water chillers?

Thanks!

not too sure,... I have heard of people piping water through a mini fridge like a wee beer fridge as a cheaper alternative? But I also read that this way can be noisy and unreliable.

I have also read that you could possibly use Thermoelectric car coolers.... like this: Gaz 068679 Thermo Electric Cooler 24Litre: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Leisure

You could sort it so it runs off of a normal socket.

Im not too clued up on it all tho sorry...this is just snippets of what I have read.

Also you could drop them an email on their website: www.coolworksinc.com. and ask them if anywhere in the UK supplies them?

Also, in the meantime until you can sort something out, if you were desperately trying to cool your tank down, you could get a hose and run it from the cold tap, into your tank in a spiral configuration and back out to the other side of your tank. This would cool the tank down too.

This would just be like an emergency situation until you can get something sorted?

Hey thanks for the info (that website doesn't work though).
I have an air con, but don't have it going at night or all times of the day as it is too noisy. Do you know how noisy the cooler boxes are?

Thanks,

I dont have any personal experience with the coolboxes im afraid... but when researching the use of them in regards to aquariums, those who have used them have all said they can be very noisy.

Apologies for the link not working... it was the other night when I had a look on their site. Perhaps the site is temporarily down or something?

This might be of some help in someway to you though:
