Jude thats why i was saying i have never seen ich over my 20 odd years of breeding and as far as i have been told its a fish problem.I always adjust my General Hardness using Aquarium salts again the amount of salt in my water would be the reason i have never seen ich.. So people who have had it on there axolotls there is a good chance it may have come into there tank because of adding tropical fish as feeders that in turn get ich because of the cold water then pass it on to the axolotls.
Donna001 thanks for the reply & i also read some where it was a fish problem and dose not transfer to axolotls .. As i have now read it can given the right conditions. I always add aquarium salt adjusting my general hardness so thats why i have never seen it the amount of salt and the fact that i do not give my axolotls feeder fish that are tropical who are added into cold water tanks to feed axolotls. In one of the links above Kim has given some priceless advice.
