Howdy everyone, just a quick update on my lotls.

I haven't been as active on the forum as I'd like, but rest assured I have been lurking! I currently have 3 lotls now, some of you may remember before I just had a male and female pair, a albino female and a melanoid male. I still have both of them, Lance-Alotl (golden female) is now over 3 years old and I've had her for 2. but recently she was getting bullied a little by my newest addition (a male wild type with flecks of gold, I got him a few months back) she is now confined to her own, somewhat spartan tank until she recovers somewhat. So the 2 boys are in the tank in my bedroom, and lance is in her own tank in the other room. she also started to get rounder, so I suspect she was filling with eggs too, and to be honest I don't want 200+ babies to raise or re-home.

my current setup is as pictured, it never really changes as much. I've now added a Ehiem professional II canister to the system on the display tank in my bedroom with the chiller inline as I'm planning to upsize to a much bigger tank in a few months time (at least double the size I have now, I may consider getting one custom bult, long, wide and shallow for maximum floorspace and may go for a "pond" type setup) and as such I want the filter to be well and truly established. it dumps into the trough above the tank which the plants grow from so the water just trickles back in so there are no current issues.

and pictured are my 2 males, my melanoid that I've had for about a year and a half now is very big, I estimate to be a little shy of 25cm from head to tail.

a shot of the 2 boys together, the wild type is hiding in the log if you look close.

the pictures seem to be squished for some reason, so you may have to open them in another window/tab to see the un-squished version.
