I hardly doubt anyone will remember me to be honest but I thought I would pop back and say hello!

Basically ever since I got into herps I always wanted some firebelly newts. I've had a fire salamander, Axolotl and two red spotted newts. I really searched everywhere for these guys. A couple of months ago however, I popped into a little fish shop (Tropical Waters in Birmingham if anyone knows it) and I saw labeled (red belly newt) and as I peered into the tank, I see two Fire belly's. I couldn't believe it! Unfortunately I would bet their WC. I picked up two males and have been happy ever since. I'm also looking for a female for a bit of breeding.

Well here they are! Any name suggestions as never thought about it really!

Thanks

P.S picture is quite blurry.

Can't say I've been to the shop, I live too far away. make sure they go through a 'quarantine period' before yo bring any more into the tank, and quarantine any new ones to make sure they don't bring any infections into the tank

Hey don't worry I will. Thanks for the reply.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
