I have been desperately trying to get my hands on a axie ( not literally lol) and i found this website . I was wanting to check if this setup would work for a axolotl. ( just one )

15 gallon tank bare bottom tank
2 plant pots cut in half
A aquarium cooler
Canister filter
For food earthworms would be its stapel and bloodworms and crickets as treats

I have a hard water quality with a avergae ph of 7.2
Is there any tips you guys could give me
Thx

A 15 gal would be good for an axolotl, though I suggest going for a 20 gal if possible. Bare bottom is great for axies (If you would like to put substrate in then I suggest fine sand only!). This set up would work really well for an axolotl!

If you have any other questions, I will do my best to answer them.

I hope you can get your hands on one!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
