Hi Guys,

This seems like the best place to get advice on my axie Nub, he recently got in a accident with his cleaning siphon , I actually thought he was dead he lost alot of skin down his tail and both arms, his left arm however appears to be broken, he's dragging it behind him and looks very painful, I have attached some photos to see what you think, is this something I need to see a vet about? I know they regrow limbs but I don't see how his arm can repair.

He has been in fridge now for 3 days with regular water changes he doesn't seem to be stressed and is eating ok just concerned over his arm.

Please help, I can't bear the thought of him in pain.

The biggest danger is fungal infection. Keep him in clean cool water, get some almond leaves online to help fight infection.

Thanks, do you think his arm will recover?

Probably, it doesn't look too bad as bite wounds go. Axolotls can savage each other , limbs go missing or hang on by bits of tissue for a bit then fall off. The important thing is to not allow it to become infected with fungus. If you can avoid that it should regenerate ok. I have found juvy axolotls with all four legs missing and no tails after taking a beating from siblings, they can recover if looked after.
