My 3 year old axolotl has an injured hand and the tip of her tail is gone. I am not sure if her tank mate (another 3 yr old female) did it or if something else is going on. They have lived together since juveniles.
She is still eating and active. Although not using the injured arm.
Should I treat with antibiotics?

Here are the pictures.

Looks to me like tank mate attack....tail looks healthy and will regrow. Leg looks a bit more damaged but just keep cool and in fresh clean water. Watch for fungus but I wouldn't rush in with antibiotics .....could try indian almond leaf as mildly antiseptic. Long term if it keeps happening, you may need to seperatel them

Thank you charleybambino!!

It's been a few days now and it's no worse so hopefully it starts improving. I wonder what would have made the other female do this after 3 years.
