Intergration Age/Length

I have 4 adults at about 15-20cm and 2 babies at 5-8cm.

At what length would it be reccommended to intergrate the 7 of them together?

well.... (longish story follows lol) i got Cizin (about 12cm now, was about 10cm) from a pet shop that doesnt no jack poops about them and he was in tragic condition so i took him home, kept him in quarentine for a month or so and then placed him in with my other two (20 and 18cm), they didnt take much notice of him but he was always by himself (poor little dude!!) hes been in with them for about 3 weeks now and hes finally been accepted as a part of the family lol, Lucian and Demetrious allow him in their bell and let him mush himself between the bell and them. before he sort of stayed away from them, maybe he was scared? or they were scoping him out. i think the babies are probably still too small, under half the size, so the big ones might get a bit stroppy. you could always put them in there and watch them to see how they go and take them out if problems start to happen?? good luck!!!!!

i might leave them till either end of this month or end of april

thanks

hi Brendan.

from personal experience, i have found that the bigger ones tend to ignore the smaller ones, actually the smaller ones are the problem, they're (well mine were anyway) a bit scitish and were taking swipes at the bigger ones or land into the big ones etc.
the big ones are about 20cm, the small ones are about 10cm.

they've been together for about 4 months and i still find the big ones go for the "dramatic bolt across the tank" because the small one(s) nip them.
admittedly, this doesn't happen all the time and they seem to be very comfortable with each other because the 4 of them decide that they all need to squeeze into the same log at the same time.

do your little ones nip each other??

peter

nope my littles dont nip each other... They very well behaved

Wait until your Littlies get bigger and they don't have so much room to themselves. This is when they become teenagers and get really narky towards each other and the hunt for food to sustain their growth gets really competitive. I've just raised about 100 of the little critters and it is such a relief to get them off my hands! Good luck.
