Is a 160 liter/42.5 gallon tank enough for 3 axies?

I know about the 30 cm/1 ft per axie + 1 extra foot rule, but... Would a 100 cm/39.3 inches long and 40 cm/15.7 inches wide tank do for 3 axies? What's the minimum size you'd put 4 in?

I live in Sweden, we don't have "long" or "breeder" as standard tank formats. I know that a large bottom area is the best.

A 120 x 40 cm is also an option, but I already have the 100 x 40 cm one that I mentioned (I currently only have one axie in a 105 liter/27 g, but already planning on more)...

Thanks! I'll add a lot of plants and caves as well as a canister filter that pumps 700 l/h (which is more than 4x the volume), so I hope that will do. This is my first time keeping axolotls, but I've had fw tanks for years, so maintaining pristine water quality is important to me. I just want to make sure that they get enough space and don't fight.

My current guy is doing great! I love him, he's like a little water puppy!

I have a tank with the same measurements (juwel rio 180) and planning to keep 3 as well. Before I had two in this tank. When they are small they have a lot of room and they also move a lot when young. When older they become a bit lazy so I think it is fine. 4 would be too much though.
My tank is currently cycling. I have one very large hiding place (40cm x 15 cm : they can sit in and walk on it as well) and a log. I also bought a turtle dock that you can actually hang in the water. Extra space
