Have you ever had a corydoras catfish? They do the same thing. I don't think it means that there's anything wrong, my axies do it every once in a while. It's because they have rudimentary lungs I think.

Ours do the same. One in particular seems to enjoy gulping air, floating about burping it and descending slowly to the bottom. I'm not sure that behaviour's quite so healthy, though
