My axolotl has a large ulcer at the base of his tail behind his back leg. i have taken him to the vet who has taken swabs to run tests but as of yet she cant prescribe anything for him.
his ulcer is starting to look worse plus can bleed which is concerning me a lot as he isnt eating. should i attempt force feeding?
i have brought some melafix on ebay but it will take a while to arrive and im very concerned about him.
i got some interpet anti internal bacteria from an aquatics center but am not sure if it is safe for use on axolotls. it was the only thing i could find that treated ulcers.
at present i am keeping him in the fridge and giving him daily salt baths.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Does it say what the active ingredient(s) are? This is the only info I could find

If it really is formaldehyde and methanol, I'd be very hesitant to use it on an amphibian, due to toxicity.

According to the Amphibian Medicine book, formalin (formaldehyde) can be used for treatment of parasites in amphibians. But they specifically state "Formalin should not be used for animals with ulcerative lesions." This doesn't sound like the right medication in this case.
