I have one small male which is being bullied by the two females, is a three gallon tank big enough? Hes only little and I have quite a lot of plants for him to hide in.....I also need some set-up ideas, I have looked at the others but they all are soo complex! Help!

A 3 gallon aquarium is going to be too small for three of any kind of newt. Before we can answer your questions we need to know what species of newt you have.

Oh gosh- I think its a standard/common pond newt or something, i picked him up at a pet stor from 50p....

Depending upon the newt 3 gallons may be too small. I think it would be fine for a temporary tank, especially if the animal is getting bullied.

As for what it is, I'm guessing you live in Great Britain? Your common pond newt really depends upon where in the world you live. What are the basic colors? Does it look like these newts or maybe this newt?

I should really look at it all! Its the male smooth newt- ofcourse not the crested! lol.....
