Is my axie bunged up or just a boy

What I don't understand is one 10g is prime. One is a wasteland and my 30 looks like wasteland. Almost like it's cycling again. Lesson learned don't trust other people to look after your kids

so the problem is that ten gallons is just too small for an axolotl

either buy him his own tank or remove all of the goldfish, rocks, and all sharp edges from his current tank. depending on where you live i’d be willing to take him

Nah your misunderstanding me man. The axol is in the 30. I have 2 community 10s. One got thrashed one is thriving. 30gallon had I little ammonia but I did a 50 percent change when I got home 3 days ago

so where would the axolotl be living? in a new tank or just the same one without the goldfish? also, i suggest daily water changes while your water is as cloudy as it is

Thought I'd post an update! The goldfish died from I'm assuming a swim bladder infection I guess it swam on its side and upside for almost two days before it passed. I left brick(my axie) in the fridge overnight so as not to cause too much shock and this morning we have poop! So my best guess is I overreacted and that is just his cloaca. Thank you all again so much for the Help!

Yes the same tank less the goldfish. And I thought white cloudy water wasn't much to worry about as it's just beneficial bacterial bloom? And to just let it settle out on its own. Still new to all this stuff and there is sooooo much misinformation out there.

okay, a 30 gallon is perfect then. i personally just hate it when my water is cloudy for an extended period of time and i don’t know exactly why, i do water changes often

Fair enough I was under the impression that it's trying to find it's balance and if I keep messing with it it will take that much longer to settle out. But I also just read somewhere that bacteria isn't just hanging in the water column it's on surfaces and decor so that doesn't make much sense

Bacteria (in general) are everywhere.
There are bacteria in the water column, bacteria on solid surfaces of the decor, sand ... and filter if there is one.
But bacteria are very diverse.
The bacteria responsable of nitrification are fixed on solid surfaces but there are other bacteria which can swim. They don't do the same things.

So essentially you would never see "beneficial" bacteria? The cloud in the water is bacteria that shouldn't be there?

I don't say that.

Bacteria in the water column develop in response to organic nutrients in solution in water. They are beneficial too in the sense they will suppress these organic compounds. If a cloudy water is caused by bacteria, the water will return clear when all the organic compounds are digested, providing there isn't a source of them in the tank. That's what happens each spring in outside ponds. These bacteria are in fact beneficial but this is the cause (organic compouds they eat) which should be suppressed.

Of course, if the water is cloudy because of micro-algae, the problem is different.
