Hi i have 2 female axolotls, Rockula & Hedwig roughly 4 years old (thats how long i have had them) Rockula is fine and happy but Hedwig seems to be having trouble staying on the bottom of the tank, my water paras are good, they are feeding well and i cant see a reason for a problem but she is having a lot of trouble and cant stop floating. i know fish can have swim bladder problems that cause symptoms like this but i have no idea if it happens to axies, how to fix it or what the hell is going on with her.... please help i am worried!!

What's the parameters of the tank?

PH
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
Temperature

Have you got any photos of the axolotl and the tank? These may help everyone figure out what's causing the problem. Your profile pic looks like you have gravel, but your photo album looks like you switched to sand?

I changed to sand within the first six months. as ib said my paras are great, very oxygenqted watwer, plenty of hides, moss ballsr, filtration, I am totally stumped - especially as Rockula is happy and healthy and Hedwig has only been floating a few days and nothing is changed. I'll try and takeapic but it is dark as they don't have a light since they dislike it.

Is she eating?
What are you feeding her?
If they don't eat they can float & if they've eaten too much & need to poop they can float.
Is she struggling to get down / stay down at the bottom of the tank?

Posting a pic of her & the overall tank would be helpful :)
