I’m new to the axolotl world. We have had Axel (wild type) for about a year now and I noticed his sides are starting to turn white. It is not fuzzy and he’s acting and eating completely normal. Is this something to be concerned about?? TIA

could just be a evolutionary trait showing, because axolotls are a predator dark/camouflaged on top, light underneath.
go to Axolotls - Requirements & Water Conditions in Captivity and look up salts/minerals required just in case it's anaemia.
Thanks!! I spoke to a few wild type owners and theirs look very similar. He’s almost
Two toned. I will look up the water requirements in case there is something I have missed. Our water perimeters have been fine.
