Orangina is now about a year old. But I still am not sure if Orangina is a boy or a girl. I think a boym cos his/hers lump behind the back leg is biggish, and his head is very narrow compared to my girls. And his hips are very narrow. But he/she is quite fat, so I really don't know for sure. What do others think? Looking forward to your replies

Orangina looks like a well-fed male.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question (I'm new to axolotls) but is he a piebald? I've read about the piebalds but haven't seen any pictures yet and so far yours is the only one I've seen with those cool white patches so I was just wondering. Looks awesome by the way.

Kevin, Piebald axolotls are axolotls that have large patches of color on an otherwise albino body.

OK, thanks. I'm used to seeing piebalds as a sort of partial-leucistic looking animal (white patches on an otherwise normally colored body). So what would this axolotl be? Maybe I just haven't seen enough pictures yet, but I haven't come across any others with a lot of white patches like that.

Thankx Kaysie and Alex. So it seems like I'm right about Orangina being a boy. Gotta name him Orangino....Would still welcome other comments on his sex from more people, as I want to be totally sure before separating him from the girls...
