Java Moss Growth

I've just put some java moss in my setup, wrapped around a stone that comes above the surface of the water.. The moss hangs off the sides a bit but the top of the stone gets very little water, I'm wondering whether or not it needs to be completely submerged to stay alive?

It needs to stay very wet, but it can be slightly above the water. If the top of the stone gets dry, it will die there.

I have some growing on a floating piece of corkbark in my t. granulosa tank. It stays very wet since part of it stays under the water (much like in your setup). Just to be sure though, when I'm doing something inside the tank such as feeding or changing water, I pour a cup of water over top or push it under to get it super wet again (this happens about twice a week) and it does great. I wouldn't worry too much unless it's pretty far above the water level.

I heard that the java moss have to grow in very wet place but it doesn't need to be submerged and if you want to see it blooming you are oblige to grow it out of the water you can try to read this article about it http://www.paghat.com/javamoss.html

I have java moss growing above water in my tank it sits on top of a bed of eco-complete which stays fairly wet. I'm sure yours will do fine in your setup.
