Question: Jump out of water

[FONT=&quot]Yesterday morning, we found one of our axoltl on the floor. Apparently he jumped from his tupperware where he was in quarantine. We don't/can't know for how long he was on the floor but he was alive.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]We put him in another tupperware with fresh water but his mucus was like peeled of his skin. He is moving but a little slow. We can see he is weak. What can we do more for him ? We saw on a french site (hence my bad spelling) that it was advised to put him in a salt bath. The salt was a "washing machine" regenerative salt (99.7% of NaCl) for 9g/1L for 20minutes.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]He is a little bend too. His head and its tail are down while his back is up but he isn't floating.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]He refuse to eat but I think it's normal. Today he is still alive.

I would not suggest giving him a salt bath as this could irritate his skin further. Keep him in cool, clean drchlotinated water and monitor him closely. You could offer a black tea bath which may help soothe the skin. I wouldn't be too concerned about him not eating just yet as it has probably been a bit traumatic for him.

Thanks Skudo,in doubt we have not given him a salt bath, in France we don't know the "tea bath", I will investigate this.
He ate 2 small pieces of trout one hour ago, I begin to have hope for him
