Nice pictures Claire, I especially like the melanoid!! Just wondering, is the melanoid gene a dominant or recessive allele in axies? I have a golden albino and I was wondering what the babies would be like if I bred her with a melanoid. (Sorry for going off topic Claire!)
Grant - she is actually a wildtype but very very dark. you cant tell on this picture but she has the gold ring around her pupil which indicates that she is wildtype. i haven't got a clue about genes but im guessing the allele is ressessive because i think true melanoids are quite rare? im not sure about that so anyone please feel free to correct me.lol.
thanks for all the comments. yeah gus is a right poser! awww i love them to bits and i just love the pic of gretchen (the 1st picture).she look cute.lol.
Claire - What is that corrugated looking floor under Gretchen? (who by the way is very attractive and I forgot to mention that while I was laughing at Gus's "vogue photo shoot" lol)
lol.she is in a small tank at the minute beacuse she likes to lay eggs when she gets back in the tank with gus. the tank is resting on a mcdonalds tray (lol) and its where the tank is wet on the bottom.lol.
thanks for saying she is attractive (and she knows it!bless her). i love your golden albino in your avatar. its beautiful!!! i'd love a golden albino to have with my 2 darlings but they are so expensive in the shop near me that sells axies.
Great pics. I think my fav is Gus in pic 3, laying on his rock -- great pose. But both are super cute little models. I have to say, axies are great photo subjects -- too darn cute. Thanks
