Just one friut fly question

I have a flightless fruit fly culture that I am going to feed to a couple of small Plethodontids (redbacks). Do I have to hold the fruit flies in front of them, or can I just put them in the tank and trust the redbacks to get them?

They'll hunt them down. It might help to put something in the tank to attract the fruit flies to one place, like a piece of banana, or damp soil with yeast. Gotta be careful not to foul the tank though. It might also help to put a piece of cloth under the screen lid to keep the fruit flies from walking out.
