Hi,
I have just joined but have used the site for reference from time to time, but a lot of late, as my axie was unwell, well i thought it was unwell, but was actually morphing, and i hadn't realized, as i was unaware it was at all even possible, but unfortunately she died last night. I am still unsure why, as she was eating, but was spending loads of time at the surface, the water temp was a little high, but water conditions otherwise where all good.
I was hoping some one might be able to shed a bit of light as to what might have happened, and if anyone knows what happens if they morph and don't have land, can they drown?
Lola was my 6th axie, i lost one only about 6weeks ago, but all the others ive had lived for years, and it was a major fault on my part that they died, i wont go into that, but ever since have struggled to keep them alive.
Thanks:confused:

If they morph and are not moved to a terrestrial landscape, they can easily drown.

Why are you having problems with them? Is it water quality issues? Feeding? Water temperature?

I'm not sure what the problem is this is the first one to morph, I didn't know they could so, i thought it was sick and then i looked on this site last night and realized what was happening, but she died before i had a chance to do anything, so i think she drowned. and the one i had before that i don't know what happened i went to feed him and he was upside down on the bottom of the tank.

My son found 3 baby bearded dragons this morning in the yard, so for now i am going to set up my Axie tank with those.

It's unfortunate that you have problems with axolotls. But that seems to be fairly common in your neck of the woods. I suspect it's the weather, being hot and all. But good luck with the bearded dragons. Beardies are pretty popular pets here in the states. Good luck with them.
