Hi there
Looking for some advice please. We got a juvenile 5 days ago and although he/she eats worms and poops he hardly moves in the tank. He will go for a walk along the bottom but then hides behind the plants again and is inactive for hours. At first I thought that this was maybe stress of being moved but we have never seen him swim. He doesn't come up for air at all. Should we be worried. Water in the tank is being treated with Prime and Seachem Stability as we cycle it I am doing partial daily water changes and the temperature is 16-17 degrees. We have sand substrate, hides and artificial plants. We also use a sponge filter with another small filter at the other end of the tank with the spray bar facing the back wall He is in a 3 foot by 1 foot by 15 inch tank. He is eating 1-1 1/2 medium sized worms cut up a day. Where we got him from he was on a bare bottom tank with plants and two other axolotls. Now he is on his own Would this matter. Any suggestions and advice would help lots as everything I have read juveniles are quite active. this wee one isn't.
Thank You.
