So my axolotl tank water is totally clear, smells fine and I clean out any leftover food and poop as soon as I see it. The only thing is that the bottom always looks a little dingy and I can't figure out how to clean it. I feel like a squeegee type of thing would clean it but is it even possible to use one on the bottom? Any advice or tips from anyone?

You need to wipe a glass bottom regularly to remove the bacterial slime, over time this may rot your axolotls toes and cause infections. I just use a scouring pad prior to a water change to scrub it off once a week or so.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
