J josh Guest Jan 25, 2005 #6 those wonderful salamanders are 'ensatina eschscholtzii klauberi' the large blotched ensatina. there are 7 subspecies of ensatina. E.e. oregonensis E.e. picta E.e. xanthopicta E.e. platenensis E.e. croceator E.e. klauberi E.e. eschscholtzii last i heard, they are trying to make E.e. klauberi its own species.
