I got a chinese firebelly newt 1 1/2 weeks ago. I noticed it didn't go in the water very often. Just enough to get wet, then back out onto the driftwood.
With closer inspection, I noticed a little cut on his rear leg, where it meets the body. Now he doesn't ues the leg at all, and the cut has almost gotten to the piont where it looks like his leg is going to fall off.
Do I just leave it alone? He's also not eating, maybe a result of his injury? Will he just eventually die??
