Hey guys! I'm very interested in axies and I really want to get one, but I live in brazil and never even saw one around here...
I really never heard of them around here, I got to know 'bout them on the internet, anyways...

So, is it legal to have an axolotl here in brazil? Does anybody know?

Thank you very much!

:*

Not sure if they're legal or not - try looking for them under a different name - I'm sure a US member said they were referred to as another name in some pet shops??!?! ...can't remember what that name was - sorry.

Ok, other names I have heard for axolotls are 'waterdogs' and also 'Mexican Walking Fish'. (Both incorrect actually). I've also heard mole salamanders. On Wikipedia it says in Japan they are called 'Wooper Roopers', but I haven't heard that personally.

Dunno if that is any help. I tried looking on the net for you but no luck sorry.

you can always try the good old name Ambystoma Mexicanum, I am sure that will get you a lot farther. cannot go wrong with their scientific names.
i know they are also refered to as el Ajolote(espanol), Upaa(nihongo for larval looking salamander where also translated as wooper marked at wooper rooper.), L'Axolot (Italiano).
