Here are some light colored Tylototriton verucosus animals (a female) shot at another keepers place. I have recently acquired just a pair like this ...

Very interesting Henk! Are these the normal light coloured variants or yet another variant?

The range of this species is sooo large that it is to be expected that that there are variable forms ... Nevertheless withough any locality data we can not do much I guess. Have no idea wether this is the same or another... I just wanted to show these ones on the net. I may try to shoot my lighter ones later, the males is quite nicely colored with lot of orange knobs, in fact a bit like al ight version of a shanjing and they are huuuge... But that's for later

No, there are forms, that are much more like T.shanjing,....
But those animals are really impressing animals.
Have to care for two, coming from someone, who didn't want to pay for the vet,..
They were that full of parasites, that i had to feed them very day about two or three zophobas or earthworms, and they looked like dry the next day,....
Greets,
Philipp

The dorsal ridge on that one seems higher than "normal." Is it the same with the other one?

Well tim this animal on the image doesn't belong to me but to a friend. I still need to make shots of mine ... they are in a tank that is not having clean windows so they are not that easy to shoot... I hope to do so in the coming days placing them in the mirror tank I was talking you about to take some shots...
