I know there have been similar questions posted on this, but I'm still curious. A couple of my juveniles are mostly pale/pink with normal black or melanoid black eyes, but are very speckled. They also keep getting more speckled with each passing week. It was my understanding that as long as the speckles stay on the top half of the axolotl, it is concidered luecistic with speckles. But some of the darkest now have speckles on the Underside of the jaw and very faint ones on the bottom of tails as well as more developing on the sides of their bellies. Are they now concidered light wildtype?
Please forgive my ignorance!

As with all colours there are variations.

Yours is a heavily marked leucistic - sometimes called a 'dirty' leucistic.

Ok, thanks! That is what I thought and what I've been calling them. After I posted my silly question I looked at some pictures on this site of some other heavily speckled Lucy's. My babies are pale by comparison! I had no idea there was so much variation in coloring!
Just out of curiosity what distinguishes a light wild from a very dirty luecistic?
