Lighting at night????

I only have my fluroescent lighting turned on when I'm feeding my juvenile Axolotl and when I'm taking photos because it is usually light enough where she is kept without being in direct sunlight. Am I supposed to have my fluroescent lights turned on more often and am I supposed to have them on or off at night (if they are off it will be pitch black)

Axies need a day and night cycle of light and dark. Leave the lights off unless you need them on for feeding and photos.
