So I'm looking at upgrading my Fire Belly Newt tank to a 55 gallon. Gonna start get more plants to make it look more natural just was wondering what does everyone else use?

My tanks always start out with Anacharis, Java fern, Java moss and Vallisnaria. After that I just try stuff I like the look of and see how it goes. Plants are cheap from ebay and always seem better quality than shop bought stuff, so a few losses along the way aren't the end of the world.

EBayer user tonict917 sells a stem plant calling it "foxtail water milfoil". It's definitely not foxtail/hornwort and I'm pretty sure it's not a type of milfoil. I think it's some kind of myriophyllum.
Whatever it is, it's an unstoppable force in my 29 gallon tank. You can root it or float it and trim it back as much as you want and it does great. I use it to fill in half the tank to give my newts a thick planted area to hide in. It is the best plants I've found on ebay.
