I noticed yesterday that one of my lobworm containers have loads of tiny worms, I cultured microworms for my salamander larva a while back and they look basically the same, if they are though I have no idea how they got there (threw out my culture months ago well before i got this batch of worms) could they be offspring or can anyone think of anything else they could be.

I think they are whiteworms. They got there from the soil or container or some other source. I don't know exactly how whiteworms reproduce, but they probably have some kind of egg or "resting stage" that can survive for a long time and then come back to life when the right conditions are encountered. There are probably some kinds of naturally-occurring whiteworms in your vicinity, so they didn't necessarily come from your previous culture.
