Just wondering how worried I should be - it seems as though my axie has cut his face under his left eye, presumably on the side of his little terra-cotta pot house (which I removed as soon as I saw the cut). Will it heal on its own, or should I take him out of the tank and attempt a salt bath or anything such as that? Any help/info would be great! Thanks!

Sorry, I can't seem to turn the picture so it is upright.

The cut should heal on its own. I would just keep an eye on him. Salt baths aren't needed unless fungus appears. Almond leaves or a tea bath can help soothe the injured area and may help healing.

Have you had salt put on a wound? It's not very pleasant at all. Smurfs right, salts only done with fungus. Keep an eye out for fungus as wounds can become fungusy

I don't see it? I see a white spot, and what appears to be a crease behind it, is that what I am supposed to be looking at? If it is the white spot it could be a sore, if it is the crease spot, well, it looks like a crease.

What am I supposed to be looking at?

The white spot under his left eye has a flap of skin attached, like a gash.

If there's one thing you don't have to worry about with axies it's minor injuries like this. He will heal fine as long as you keep him clean and cool. No need for salt, tea or medication unless he gets an infection - which he won't if you keep him clean and cool!
