Illness/Sickness: Lost a leg - Need advice (image enclosed)

My axolotl just had a tiff, and sadly one has lost a front leg!

I just wanted to ask what I should do to make sure it doesn't get an infection? I put some anti fungal medicine that I used when I first got them last year (they both had 3 legs and 1 had a fungal infection, managed to save him, but unfortunately he's the one who is injured now too so I know he's susceptible if that is possible. Last time his leg was partially attached and got infected. I took him out and in the process of putting him back in the leg came off leading to a clean break and a fresh heal.

Will it scab over on its own and just grow back with time like the last one? Or is there something I need to do to help him along? I've fed them both to try and calm them down as I wonder if they were getting wound up because they thought they were being fed but I was doing a big clean out, taking out all the plants/rock/filter etc, and just as I was finishing up they suddenly had a fight (which has never happened before!!)

What do I need to look out for? Annoyingly I am away from midday sat to Monday afternoon so I am paranoid I will come back to a dead/ill axolotl or something.

Could the fight be due to reaching some kind of maturity? I have found I have a male and female, so maybe the female is in the axolotl equivalent of a season?

If you are Paranoid with the leg getting infected because of something in the tank then i would suggest take him/her out and put her in a smaller separate tank or larger container with tank water. If you notice the leg gets infected with fungus proceed to a salt bath.

Thanks, I am worried about leaving sat and coming back mon, if it got an infection would it take hold quickly or am I safe having a look saturday, not seeing him sun, then checking monday again? I imagine if it was likely to happen quickly it would happen by Saturday anyway but I am just fretting.

The trouble with putting it in a smaller container is that the water will get dirtier faster which won't be good if you're away. Do you have a tank divider?
