Hello
I would like to set up a 55 gallon high hexagon terrarium for treefrogs.
My question is how can I tell male from female? I am interested in green, squirrel or clown treefrogs. Ofcourse only one type but would like to breed them .
I currently have 3-3 year old Cuban treefrogs all male .I would like a few females and maybe 1 or 2 males of whatever treefrog I opt for but other than hearing them call wanted to know if any accurate way to sex these treefrogs?

Thats about it man. The only other way to to guess. Most females have a lighter colored throat. Males tend to have a darker throat. But that is hard to tell. You would have to ask the person who bread them. I bet if you got 3 of them, you'd probably get a male and female in there.

Thank you. Thats what I suspected no sure fire way to sex them other than males calling.Figured I would ask.
I am going to have to find breeder as the ones they sell at pet store are wild caught .
I imagine most males. If I get 3 chances are like my Cuban treefrogs all males.

I was reading the posts looking at terrariums and read this old post. I did purchase 4 baby green treefrogs back than and ofcourse they are all males lol.
They are neat and they have lots room in the terrarium . You were correct about the throat color but it was impossible as babies to tell and even than its not all year long but thats the best way to tell unless you see them call .
