Here's Crunchie, not sure of age or sex, but he/she is about 12cm long.

What a cool looking axie. How long have you had him/her.
 
Thankyou, have had him/her for 5 days. He/she loves the pot with the java moss on it, he/she is always sitting on it.
 
Congrats! Crunchy looks skinny, and its gills are not in great shape. Feed well and keep as cold as possible.
 
Feeding every day, he/she seems to be eating ok, but only bloodworms, any food suggestions? Water is cold, prob about 18 degrees.
 
Awesome looking axie, just needs a little TLC and he/she will be looking even better.

Axie food suggestions -

Any kind of steak
Liver
Lamb's fry
Pellets
Live fish
Dried tubefix worm cubes

Good news, Crunchie finally ate some pellets today. And he/she was biting at the bubbles, it was so cute. Then he/she tried to ride them.

as a food idea i read other users on here go to walmart and buy the bait worms and use those as food. I am going to attempt the same thing.

But your in australia no idea if you have walmarts or not.
 
Thanks for the idea. I'm guessing I can get some sort of bait worms, plenty of bait shops around.
 
did you buy crunchie from birkenhead point pet centre by any chance?
 
crunchy has a vey beautiful coloured tail for what i can see in the last picture. a nice picture, a side view, showing the whole tail/body would be very nice next time you shoot. ;) *hint, hint*

The bait shops would have some worms to feed "Crunchie", in addition to the pellets.
I like the name!
The worms will soon put some meat on him/her.
I am sure with your "TLC"
"Crunchie" will soon be looking in top condition.

I didnt get him from Birkenhead point callum, I got him from Aquamart here in Blacktown. And Annmarie I will defitinely get a side shot asap. Thanks Susan, I think Crunchie is cute too

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with his gills that are lying flat against his head? Been like that for a few days, but he's still eating normally and swimming around.

Have you given him beef heart? How long have the gills been that way? Do you see any white fluffy white stuff?
 
Haven't given him beef heart. Gills have been like that for a few days and theres no white fluffy stuff.
 
Crackers looked like that when they started to grow back. He was about the same length also. When his gills started to grow back, he really started to alot of food. Sorry I could not help more>
