Mesotriton eccentric egg-laying

This is one of the strangest things I've ever discovered in any of my aquariums. Mesotriton normally lay their eggs singly in carefully-folded leaves. I don't know what kind of wild modernist ideas my female is having, but she's certainly bucking convention! In addition to this amazing string of eggs, you can also see one attached to the outside of the flower pot.

Many of their eggs have been infertile recently, so maybe she is taking less care with them?
