Hi,friends!
My Cynops cyanurus (Blue tailed newts) larvea are morphing.
I found them floating all the time.
I have lowered water line.
However this situation does not change.
Do them want to on land?

They're lovely morphs, I would love some C. cyanurus one day! From what i've read it's very easy to skip the terrestrial phase altogether with these. Good luck with them!

Hi zhanggeer! I think these little newts now need a land area,if only for a short while. A piece of floating bark with some moss on would be fine. Alternativly you could use a stone or two,or even a piece of brick, and then a flat stone of some sort on top and then some moss. I tend to wash stones and the like very thoroughly and make sure all is secure. The newts may well return to the water after a short stay on land. They are lovely little animals, good luck with them. Kind regards Richard

I agree 100% with Richard. They absolutely do need a land area (there is risk of drowning if it is not provided). After a few days/weeks they'll go back in the water.
