Has anyone used this type of fern for their vivaria? i jsut got mine from walmart. I am planning on using it and some golden pothos for an aquaterrarium for some cynops orientalis or possible a breeding par of red eyed tree frogs (either one or the other, not both at the same time!)Any suggestions on how to promote its vigorous growth or comments greatly appreciated!

when i used to breed redeyes i used a lot of caletha plants. I liked them because they were very sturdy and leaves supported the weight of the females. you can usually find them at homedepots and lowes.

i like pothos for that purpose, if they are generously watered they can support the wiught of the female jsut fine, by the way i found out the scientific name of the plant, selaginella

Different selaginellas have different growth requirements but it usually works well as a ground cover in moist situations.

I use spathaphyllums when I breed red eyes.
