So I've had my axies for about two and a half weeks now-LOVE them! ^-^ They seem really happy and are adjusting really well. My leucistic(Kai)is closing in on 3.5in, but my melanoid (Kona) has stayed pretty consistent at around 2in.

I'm thinking he is a bit younger in general because hes struggling to pick up on the food dish concept. He'll swim up to it when there's food inside, but won't actively eat it. I end up hand feeding him his blood worms as he still seems to need the extra stimulation to snap them up.

I'm hoping to get some tips on keeping him in a tupperware until he's grown a bit and I feel comfortable in his ability to eat on his own. Then I'll at least know he's eating as much as he wants in the meantime.

I'm familiar with the general guidelines but I have a couple of questions:
He does NOT enjoy being in it when I've wrangled him in it to eat separately. Should this pass once he's used to it?

Tips on transferring him to the identical container w/ fresh water every day without stressing him out too much?

Should I cover the container all the way/partially/not at all?

Water depth?

Thank you! Sorry for the long winded post, y'all are awesome! ^-^

Just make sure its a quality tub so it doesn't leech chemicals into the water, one with decent depth is good so hes not in shallow water. Change the water 100% most days with dechlorinated water. If you get get a large tub then hes got some room to move about. To transfer him, I use a large jug and then coax mine into it, pushing the jug into the water which then causes suction as the water fills the jug which pulls the Axolotl into the jug but keeping him submerged in water.;)
