Hello, this is probably in the wrong forum but I wasn't sure of where else to post.
I had a thread in the general discussion about a Mudpuppy in a pet store being incorrectly labeled as an Axolotl. I spoke to someone in the department and despite his uncooperative manager is trying to properly care for the poor guy.
First off, is it legal to sell a mudpuppy in Canada? He wasn't sure. The person who sold the mudpuppy to the store told them it was an Axolotl and it clearly is not.
Lastly he asked me for help because the mudpuppy at least to his knowledge hasn't eaten in 2 weeks. They were feeding him earthworms. Says he does bi weekly 25 percent water changes and the temp when he checked it was 55. I pointed out my concerns about the stones. Some were ok size while others I was worried he could accidentally swallow. He didn't look impacted to me but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I didn't get a chance to ask about the parameters as I was with a very impatient 7 year old who thought talking about this stuff was boring
Said I'd try to help him out though to make sure the mudpuppy is getting the proper care.
