My Axolotl always hide

Hi members,

Last week I bought a second hand two foot tank and two four month old axolotl's. I feed them pallets and earth worms but they hardly move their always hiding. One of them is smaller and wont hardly eat. Is this normal? I use water conditioner in the water and the tank has a filter.

Hi I’m having the same problem and I was wondering if it is the light my tank is in a room with no windows so I was wondering if they need a light or not because when I turn it on the run and hide but when it’s off they play
