I got bored and pulled out the camera on my two axolotls Ariel and Bandit during feeding time. Bandits waiting patiently in his feeding spot for his turn cause he's too shy to venture over, I think he was going to come over but i scared him off with the light of the camera. Meanwhile Ariel's getting some help from me to stay at her pellets. Ariel is quite the bully and doesnt mind begging for food then when I stop she wont eat her pile she will go over to bandits and scare her away from it, eat it all to herself and then return back to her food to fill up; what a gutz:eek:.(hmmm kind of reminds me of my dogs when they're getting fed) so I have to get ariel to follow my finger like this to lead her away from bandit and his meal.

I just had to add the song considering her name;)

I just LOVE that coloring on Ariel :)

bandit's an awesome leucistic !!! just look at the pattern on his head . . . hmmm is that normal ??? for a leucistic to have a pattern ??? mix-breed perhaps ???

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
