one of my axolotls got sick.she has already sick when i buy her.the staff in aquarium "play" her(they use hands to stir the water)so when i buy her home, she is shy with strangers, when i close to the glass she agonize over and trying to escape.she eat red worns very small amount(others axolotls can eat 10~20 worns with a bite but she only eat 1~2 worns with a bite)
recently,i found her body and head swelling(like her body fall of water)but she didn't float on the top of the water, when i feed her,she will chase the worms(i use clip to clip the died worms)but just can't eat,she can't open her mouth because her head is swelling, and sometimes she will agonize over .i think if is water quality go bad so i move her to a box with fresh water.
now i change the water everyday but she doesnt look better(still swelling),i change the whole water because somebody tell me to do and he tell me use the medication called-BACTERIA TREATER.but nothing go better....what should i do?

Hi

Sorry to hear about the problems with your axolotl. If you could post a few things it might help people narrow down what is wrong with your axolotl.

Firstly, what are your water readings for ammonia/nitrate/nitrite/ph?

What is the temperature of your water?

Do you use a filter?

How often are your water changes? Do you dechlorinate your water?

Tank size?

Do NOT use the medication they recommend.

If your axolotl's head and body are swollen (like a balloon), it could be bloat. This needs to be treated by a veterinarian.

but vets in here dont really know about this creature, and they cost very expensive....so what can i do
