Hello, my axolotl Onyx has a small bloodworm stuck in her gill should i be concerned? I noticed it tonight while feeding. I am not sure if I should put her through the trauma of catching her and holding her down while I use tweezers to remove the worm....... what should I do?

like in the frills or like coming out of the back of her face?

if the former, no idea, if the latter that's actually the kind of thing that can happen. Virginia had a nightcrawler doing that last week. It was alarming and she looked fairly uncomfortable, but she schlurped it back down somehow.

Okay, if that's what I think it was from how you're describing it it's not a big deal, it just looks scary as heck. Sometimes when they snap instead of going straight downa bit will protrude through the gills like that, it doesn't do them any harm, she probably wound up swallowing it down
