Help please! I went away for 10 days and had someone taking care of my 2 lil’ dudes. When I came back one of them had what seems like a scrape or cut on his arm. 🥺 The scrape/cut seems to include the skin having peels away (he’s usually dark all over) and shows some angry red spots. He’s not using that arm when moving around. He tried to eat a worm today but spit it out (which might be unrelated, but who knows). The tank shows no buildup of ammonia/nitrates/nitrites and a 7.4 pH. I can’t tell if his brother though his tiny arm was a snack or if he caught it on something. I’ve never had one of them get injured before and while I know they regenerate I’m not sure what to do. (Can he get an infection? Do I need to do anything for him? Should I find a vet?) any advice/experience/info would be greatly appreciated.

That does look bad but axoltot are amazing at healing. I would watch it in case it gets infected.

If nothing is growing on it and/or he does not seem distressed, it should heal pretty much on its own. Regular feedings can speed up the healing process, though.
