I was bored tonight looking through old folders and came across so many pics of my babies when they were babies! I can't believe how much they have grown in such a short period and it's been so fun having them a part of my life!

Here are some before and now pics! Feel free to share yours too if you have some! :D

Sheldon

Leonard

Penny

Howie

Howie is my little special guy, I recently found out he is a Dwarf Axolotl (Thanks to help from the lovely people here on this board!) so he's not very big and doesn't look a whole lot different but is soooo cute, he's my camera ham!

I have to say, I LOVE Penny's colour!! What a beauty!

Did you get her from a breeder?

Hi, yes, I got her from a breeder in Toronto. Sheldon, Leonard and Penny all came from the same breeding, Howie also came from the same breeder but second breeding.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
