My little brother brought home some newts, What do I do?

My little brother brought home about 7 newt from a camping trip last week. I put them in a 10 gallon fish tank yesterday and put an air stone in for aeration. I have been trying to find out what species they are and came accross this site. They look most like the Eastern Newt to me. They are brownish green-yellow, with a pale yellow belly. they are covered with little dark dots and have a line of bright orange-red spots running along either side of their backs. they have four toes on the front legs and five on the hind legs. They are from a lake in western Massachusetts in a wooded area. What can I do to keep them happy and healthy and know what species they are?

being from the wild you have to look at were you got them from and copy but i would not put an air stone in as most newts do not like and will try to leave the water plus you will need a bigger tank j slate
