Hi all,

Heres some pics of the Lil ones, and their new tank set-up.

Its a six foot tank, and the residents are 5 juvie axies 4 months old,
There is:
Tiger- Wild
Boofhead- Black Meloniod
Kiren- Black meloniod (kiren is Lil dark one)
Corona- Golden
Marloo- hyper meloniod (white/purple)

I would love to have a tank that size! :eek: All your juvies are beautiful. Congrats on the wonderful tank and lotls. :D

thanks :), i still cannot get over how quick they grow, remember when i first got them and there lil back legs were still buds! and they were only 5 cm! now tiger who the largest is 16cm!, followed very closely by boof who is 15.5cm its so amazing to watch how they grow and develop.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
